here's a short poem by a 13 year old girl from uniondale whose a part of the poetry workshop i teach on fridays (the one with the glasses ;-):


ABC Blocks

we walk on air
look through mirrors
sit on front porches
and scream to the top of our lungs
as we capture teddy bears in combat boots
in glass cages.
